Hi Everyone,

Call them versatile or flattering .... Skater Skirts fitted at the waist and and flared out into an A-line silhouette are here to make you look chic and trendy during fall winter season. Spotted on street style to runways, they comes in an endless array of fabrics, colors, and patterns, meaning there's a version out there to suit ever personality and solve any wardrobe dilemma.

Classic silk blouses and feminine lace tops give these minis a proper feel. That was the best choice for the skater look to go feminine while still balancing the flow. To layer the look, pair it with an oversize tailored blazer or oversize sweater. I opted for a leather jacket though.

Hi Everyone,

Witnessing all the runways recently, I realized Tribal and Aztec Prints are still going strong and will come up in all the forms and colors during Spring/Summer 2014. The tribal fashion feels fresh, renewed, like a tree blossoming in spring. The colour palette for the season ranges from pastels, with sky blue winning the medal as  number one colour trend, with accents of orange or coral red come fuchsia.

Hence, when I saw this dress I could not help but to make it part of my wardrobe. Its figure skimming silhouette came as a bonus. Batwing sleeves balanced the bodycon skirt and gave the dress an overall flirty feel. Felling so bright and happy here spending one of my best day around. To combat the chill in the air, simply threw this ultra chic jacket with flared details.

Fashion How to wear sequins casually

Hi Everyone,

Though the festive season is over, still its not the time to pack off those cute bling things. Thumbs up to new runway trends, the bling is in. So, get ready to inject a high dose of holiday glamor into your wardrobe this season !

Many fear wearing sparkle during the day, but if done well, it can really make an outfit. The trick is to rock sequins in a casual-glam way that looks effortlessly chic. Mix your sequins with something more casual. To start with, pair a shiny bag (or shoes) with your daily outfit. It’s a safe and easy way to give your outfit some serious sparkle!

Keeping all these pointers in mind, I compiled the sequined look with my skinny black jeggings. This look could easily transition from day to night with just a simple switch of shoes! The juxtaposition of the casual tee with the fancy sequins makes for a super appealing combination. Minimal jewelry and messy hair has to be the safe bet here.

P.S.  If you’re feeling a bit more bold, add a chunky necklace and a leopard cardigan.

Fashion How to wear Vintage Clothing Modern way

Hi Everyone,

printed blazers women
Pencil Skirt - Vero Moda (similar here, here and here)

Vintage clothing has a sense of character, history, and style that is hard to find on the racks at the mall. That's the reason anything vintage has an aura, which draws me towards them. Its a challenge to style vintage outfits without looking over the board or clumsy. Hence, I decided to compile a vintage look and share some tips to keep in mind while wearing vintage clothing effortlessly.

Wearing a vintage piece of clothing along with at least one modern piece is the ultimate easiest way to begin wearing vintage! I paired my vintage birds print blazer with modern pencil skirt and a cut-out top. Hence, keeping the focus on the blazer yet looking modern. The outcome is a unique style that is fresh and modern, but at the same time, has an unmistakable vintage flair.

Another tip is to add one bold accessory to immediately update the look.
Try it and rock vintage style in day to day life.

Fashion Trends Best Spring Summer 2014

Hi Everyone,

Yes, we all waiting for summers to be here asap. Meanwhile, I am geared up to upgrade my wardrobe to welcome new season with elan. Spring Summer 2014 is whole lot about beautiful prints. I highlighted Aztec Prints here. Today focusing on baroque print which is so royal and elegant that everybody has to stop and take notice. Exactly what happened when I wore this blouse to a recent gathering. While this trend started to gain pace last summer, lush prints returned to the runway for Spring/Summer 2014. At Hermès, Rousseau’s landscapes punctuated looks, at Emporio Armani water lily prints appeared on designs and at Marc Jacobs, Aloha-shirt style Hibiscus prints and exotic landscapes gave the Spring/Summer 2014 collections a tropical feel.

As long as the color goes.... Orange Is the New Black, a major New York Fashion Week color moment. The fiery hue has been spotted all over the spring 2014 ready-to-wear shows, making its way from the season's It lip to its clothes, bags, and shoes.  Not to mention, the quilted leather which is quite remarkable this spring in soft yet subtle way. Hence, this quilted skirt became a perfect companion to my baroque shirt.

Hi Everyone,

TOURISM MINISTER OF KARNATAKA SRI R.V. DESHPANDE INAUGURATES THE KARNATAKA FASHION WEEK 2014

The Tourism Minister of Karnataka, Sri. R.V. Deshpande inaugurated the second edition of the Karnataka Fashion Week 2014 with full support at the Bowring Institute on January 22, 2014.

Also present at the occasion was the infrastructure stalwart Mr. Ashok Kheny – Chairman – NICE,  who inaugurated the fashion week with the minister.

Showcasing a Handloom and Khadi thematic, Day 1 showed a pageantry of superbly crafted South Indian textiles. Opening with a triumphant collection revivalist designer Pavitra Muddayya that showcased Gandaberunda and Motifs like the Kannada Alphabets on the sarees. Pavitra’s mother Chimmy Nanjappa was one of India’s foremost experts in Indian Handloom Textiles and sourced exquisite hand-woven sarees from all over India for clients like Indira Gandhi & Shobhaa De at her shop VIMOR. Pavitra continues the tradition of supporting the weavers of South India.

The second designer to follow was Tara Aslam, who has a lovely store at the Bangalore Metro Station on MG Rd. She offers beautiful & inexpensive Khadi & Handloom ensembles for men and women who appreciate the finesse of the hand-made. A collection which created magic on the ramp.

It was then followed by KHADI KHOUTURE, a competition to design an ensemble out of Khadi & Handloom was held for students of the Fashion Design Schools in Bangalore. The contestants presented Khadi & Hand Woven Textiles which are used as true representations of Luxury.

The next collection on the ramp was that of VANYA SILKS OF SILK MARK, the Wild Silks of India grown in forests which has varieties of Muga, Eri (Ahimsa Silk) & Tasar – shimmering golden fabrics that are taking the International Fashion markets by storm. Vanya means Forest in Sanskrit & these silks are promoted by the Silk Mark Organization of India to ensure purity & high quality.

The next sensation on the ramp was Bangalore’s most versatile designer NAMRATA G. She has a long and distinguished career offering both Indian & Western viewpoints. She is as comfortable constructing a ball gown as she is embroidering a kanthasaree, and demonstrates the fact by offering a collection of Western evening ensembles in beautiful handlooms. Her Khadi collection was the highlight of the night with all the colors of the rainbow.

ROSHAN, the next designer, is the newest designer in the lot, who fascinated everyone with his Sufi inspired ensembles consisting of floor length angarkhas & jackets for men. He would like Indian Men to experiment more with these elegant & aristocratic silhouettes that he says flatter Indian figures most.

The next talent on the ramp was the combination of Roopa Pemmaraju and Sudhir Swain, who call themselves CALANTHA, who presented an Ethical Collection of fashion that combines traditional dyeing practices like Bandhini & printing techniques like Kalamkari to offer an Indian viewpoint in Global Fashion.

The first International Designer to showcase at the KFW 14 was the iconic BIBI RUSSELL. This distinguished designer from Bangladesh has been nominated as one of the world’s ten most important women in fashion. Her revivalist work in the handloom sector in Bangladesh reinvented this humble fabric, modernizing it and making it an international sensation. She supports entire villages of weavers, dyers, printers and tailors & crafts people.

RAJ SHROFF one of Bangalore's most respected designers, did the Finale of Day 1 and ended the night with his spectacular creations. He is known for his sensitive use of natural fabric & techniques, texturized surfaces & embellishments add a dimension to his collection that truly make a statement about the beauty of Indian textiles.

Also gracing the occasion were Mr. Sridhar Pabisetty and Mr. Harish Bijoor from B.PAC, who explained the vision and objectives of this Political Action Committee.

Day 2 focusses on Bridal Wear followed by Global Pret on Day 3.

Hi Everyone,

FORMULASkin Care from Marks and Spencer is absolutely the right range which I was looking for my body and face. Hence, picked up quite a lot of stuff and sharing the review with you -

1. Royal Jelly and Aloe Vera Body Creams
2.  Daily Care Light Day and Night Cream
3.  Beauty Bag
4. Gentle Face Scrub
5. Light Moisturizer

One of the things I liked most was the texture of the products, which is sufficiently thick to feel luxurious but not so rich that it became difficult to apply. I don't tend to like products with strong scents, particularly ones you use at night, so I appreciated the neutral scent of Formula Skin Care.

Royal Jelly and Aloe Vera Body Creams

Truly luxurious heavy duty body creams which are highly addictive and are must in my vanity. The hydrating creams are enriched with royal jelly and honey / extract of aloe vera which helps soften the skin leaving it moisturized, silky smooth and delicately scented.

MRP - Rs. 499 for 200ml

Beauty Bag

This beauty bag contains a Shea scented Bath Fizzer to fragrance your bath, exfoliating Coconut Body Polish with coconut shell granules to gently polish your skin, invigorating Lime Shower Cream to cleanse and soften and nourishing Shea hand and body lotion with moisturising shea butter.

Daily Care Light Day and Night Cream

Designer MICHELLE SALINS is showcasing her Spring Summer'14 collection at the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week today. After having dressed celebrities at the MET Gala, Hollywood award nights and other celebratory events, MICHELLE is back in Bangalore as the guest designer for Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week.

Inspired by the clear blue Californian skies and sandy white beaches with a modern take on the classic hand crafted porcelain motifs, Michelle's designs are an ode to the sleek and chic style of California. The collection comprises of day and evening dresses with fitted and flare silhouettes, printed sheaths and column dresses constructed from silk, georgette and matte jersey. Pleated chiffon and soft cotton add flare to the collection while silk organza lends an ethereal and feminine look.

There is a heavy influence of florals in colors like yellow, orange and bright bougainvillea and a use of the camellia white poppy flower print infused with hues of blue to give a sophisticated resort like feel.

About her stint at the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week, Michelle says, “It’s absolutely a pleasure to support and associate with the BPBFW team on their 10th Anniversary edition. Hi Everyone,

Day 3 of The Karnataka Fashion Week 2014 was inaugurated by Mr. N.A. Harris (MLA – Shanthinagar Constituncy) with a tribute to The State Bird – Indian Roller, which was the theme on which the Karnataka Fashion Week 2014 was based.

The night started off with the dynamic combo of JASON & ANSHU, widely considered to be two of Bangalore’s most talented designers, who have carved out a special niche for themselves with their superbly finished textiles and exquisite craftsmanship. Using techniques that reveal their fine sensibility, Jason & Anshu dressed the models with style & elegance and a youthful verve.

Next was ASIF SHAH, the master from Indore, considered to be one of the most directional designers in the Menswear category. His sharply tailored suits, red carpet tuxedo’s and Ethnic grooms sizzled the ramp, one of the main reasons why he has earned a place in the Indian Fashion Scene. His clothes are much in demand and he retails at many stores across the country, and in the Middle East as well.

RUNA RAY, was next, showcasing her fascination with Industrial fabrics and techno processes resulting in a collection that established her as one of the freshest voices in the industry. She offers a collection of womenswear this year that shows the wide range of expertise that she has acquired over the years, making her a designer to watch out for.

Then was the brand from the house of Arvind Mills, from Bangalore – MEGAMART. Bangalore’s affair with value brand Megamart continued as everybody loved their sassy street-smart style. Offering a bouquet of International brands like Geoffrey Beene, Mossimo and  Cherokee together with in-house brands. Megamart is headquartered in Bangalore and operates 200 stores all over India.

Next was the new entrant KARAN BHATTACHARYA. Karan is one of India’s youngest designers, creating a youthful energy with his beautifully detailed clothes for women. The final closing Bangalore designer was the ever gorgeous YASHILA. Her gowns reflect that sensibility, using jewel tones and richly draped fabrics to create stunning looks that capture the very essence of glamour of the silver screen.

The Grand Finale was by SONALI, Colombo’s top designer. Sonali Dharmawardena and Yehali Sangakkara, celebrated the exquisite crafts of native Sri Lanka combined with international style to create a signature collection that was unique and tropical in its sensibility. Hi Everyone,
 Ramesh Dembla at the
Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week

Bangalore’s favourite designer Ramesh Dembla showcased his collection SOUL SHINE with a Yakshagana (Karnataka folk dance) performance. The collection is an inspiration from all things that makes the designer happy. Like the colour red and the passion, the mystery and surprise of black and the glamour and opulence with gold/silver. The definition of ornamentation was redefined with an interesting use of sequins and beads.

It was a play of contours as tassels and drapes in striking reds and floor length dresses took centerstage. The menswear line is for who's just as dapper, who has a sense of style and created a niche for himself. Chic jackets made of a combination of printed wool and velvet exuded elegance. Fukrey fame VISHAKA SINGH walked the ramp for Ramesh Dembla in a black and red lehenga which truly a personification of beauty on earth.
